Your 2022 Career Strategy?
“How can I be more strategic about my career growth next year?”
The holidays are firmly upon us. The year is winding down… but if you’re an ambitious high potential leader, you’re already thinking ahead and dammit all, this is the year you’re going to do something about it!
Since starting this business, I’ve said this to myself basically every December. And sure, there have been year end reflections, projections, goals that will set me up for the long term vision I have for myself as a leader and my growing org.
Sometimes they even come to pass. For example, I’ve slowly been growing a great team to serve students and implement new programs (we’re up to 4 now! More to come).
But this year is different - like many of you - I’m dead set on scaling my impact, working smarter, saying no to the things that used to pay the bills to make room for more intentional and strategic ways to serve more clients and lean into my thought leadership and expertise.
For me this means creating a new program that gets women hired, promoted and compensated for their leadership and expertise that they can:
- Gain clarity on their long term career destination
- Plot a strategic path toward it
- Begin the moment they need it
- Follow on their own schedule
- Benefit from other’s networks
- Quell career stress and anxiety among peers going through the same journey
- Articulate and market their brand and value prop internally and externally
- Lays the foundation for future thought leadership
It’s a big transformation. A lot of deep work. A lot of time strategizing which doesn’t feel half as good as blindly moving forward (but is absolutely a step toward working smarter and not harder).
I could have absolutely stayed where I was. And for 2 years I did. But the pain of knowing there’s a better way and living my potential got to be worse than the pain of making the change. And that’s what’s sparked the sea change.
I’m excited to share more - I deliver my first TedTalk at the end of Jan. New students will be able to sign up for a new training next year. And of course doors will open for that program soon after.
It’s not easy. It’s not comfortable. But I’d be a hypocrite to ask you to do anywork I wasn’t willing to do myself.
Besides, it’s time.
