If I apply, am I obligated to join Career Strategy GPS?

Absolutely not! That’s part of why we have a training session - so you can get more details and make the decision that’s best for you. Furthermore, the training is NOT a 90 minute sales pitch either. I promise that you get a lot of value that can help you in your career simply from the information I share - regardless of your decision on joining my program or not.

Why is there an application for this program?

Asking you to fill out an application to determine your potential fit for this program is a way to ensure that the participants are in the “right” place in their career to get the most out of it. It’s not our style or aligned with our values to just fill spots with anyone willing to join. We want participants to see massive transformation when they work with us, and part of that is gathering some data on the front end to help maximize that.

What happens if my application isn’t approved right now?

First, don’t worry. After years of working in this niche, I’ve found there are 3 main reasons why my program might not be a fit for someone.

  1. If your next move is starting your own company/consultancy. This is a wonderful ambition and there’s lots of programs that cater to budding entrepreneurs but we aren’t one of them. We help womxn who want to move into and up in already established organizations. However, if you sense this is a longer term goal (the move after your next move) and you know you need to learn from an established institution first, then we are 100% here for that.

  2. If you need a job yesterday. Being unemployed and anxious about it is all too real. From where we sit, we have seen it cause people to make moves quickly, out of fear that staying where they are is going to make them less attractive candidates. We totally get this if there is a financial strain - you have to do what’s best for you. We are here to help people move into the next role strategically while developing their strategic leadership skills, which takes some time to figure out, practice and solidify as new habits. If your goal is just to get the next role fast, there are lots of other programs that do that as well, but they don’t set you up for the next 5-10 years. If you still want to participate, we encourage finding a n interim job that pays the bills and quells the anxiety so you can walk into the next role with major confidence and vision - which is what high level roles require!

  3. If you’re still in the total blue sky exploratory phase of your career. This is a great place to be and is absolutely necessary in your early career as you are figuring out what you like and are good at. We work with people who have enough experience to now want to narrow their focus and skillset rather than explore all possibilities.

How soon can I start Career Strategy GPS?

You can join anytime and still get full, recorded access to the entire program. Q&A calls are always live and bespoke to you and your immediate needs.

How is this program being taught?

The Career Strategy GPS Program is delivered through a mix of live calls, recorded videos, and written exercises. Much of your learning will take place through weekly assignments that will help you get your thoughts and goals onto paper as you map out your career future. Anytime you’re stuck or want community - come to a call. If you can’t make a live call, submit your question anyway and pick it up via the call recording like a great career growth podcast made just for you.

I’m really busy with work, kids, life, etc. How much time will this program take every week?

This program is specifically designed for womxn like you who don’t have tons of extra time. There is no set amount of time you have to spend on the program, but like with anything, the more you put in, the more you get. We hate cliches here, but this one’s totally true. Think of it as, “If I want to grow, I don’t have time to waste. This is the year I prioritize fulfillment at work.” On average, you can expect to devote around 2 hours each week on the program which many people love because once your strategic planning time is in your schedule for 8 months – it stays there. Didn’t you say you needed to set aside time for strategic planning? 😉

Do I need to show up live?

Nope. While personal experience has proven that showing up live and hearing others’ stories and solutions opens up all kinds of new ideas and opportunities to us, we also get that life is rich and perfect attendance is not always possible. That’s why all group calls are recorded for you to listen to at your leisure. Have a burning question but can’t make the call? You have 2 options to submit – our online community where you’ll get a written answer within 24 hours (M-F). Or submit it before the call and Alex will handle it on the next call and pick up the answer via the recording. Former clients have called it “a career podcast made just for me.”

Is there any support if I need it?

Of course. You’ll receive recorded video feedback on written work from myself and my team on a weekly basis, as well as ongoing community and support in our private LinkedIn group and on coaching calls.

How is this different from other career coaching programs I’ve seen?

This is the only career uplevel program that helps you plan your career strategically for the long term vs working toward your next move, while you perfect your leadership skills. It’s not just about getting the next role; it's about getting you the skills - storytelling, influence, executive communication, strategic networking and more - you need to get the role, succeed in it and set you up for the next one.

I need to get a new job or promotion YESTERDAY.

This program isn’t designed for desperate, panicked, or unstrategic job moves. In order to create a long-term and fulfilling career trajectory, you must be willing to do the necessary work, which takes time. What if, instead of jumping at any opportunity because you’re desperate to make a move, you instead take the time you’d use for action to make more considered choices that will ultimately get you to your goals faster?

I don’t want to be a top-level exec or lead lots of people. Is this still right for me?

This program is about giving you the tools to design your best career future and get into the best role to set you up for it - leadership or not. The skills we teach - storytelling, influence, executive communication, strategic networking and more - are used in any role.

I need clarity before I start this work.

Can we keep it real here? What have you already done to gain clarity, and why hasn’t it come to you by now? A major cornerstone of this program IS teaching you a repeatable framework that will get clarity on what you want and how to achieve it, so you can take meaningful action sooner than you would alone.
